Curator QuizPrivacy Policy
Curator Quiz is a Shopify app that shows product recommendation quizzes on a merchant’s storefront. This policy explains what the app collects, why, how long it is kept, and who else processes it.
Who does what. The merchant whose store you are shopping on is the controller of shopper data. It is their store and their customer relationship. Curator Quiz is a processor: we collect and store this data on the merchant’s behalf and act on their instructions.
What we collect from shoppers
When someone takes a quiz on a merchant’s storefront, we store:

No cookies, and no cross-site tracking
The quiz widget stores its session identifier in your browser’s
sessionStorage, which is cleared when you close the tab. It sets no
cookies, does not use localStorage, does not fingerprint your device, and
does not track you across other websites. We do not sell personal data, and we do not
use shopper data to advertise to you.
What we access from Shopify
With the merchant’s permission the app reads their products, collections and published storefront languages, so it can recommend real items in the right language.
It also receives a notification when an order is paid, so revenue can be attributed to the quiz that produced it. From that notification the app stores only the order identifier, order number, total, currency, and the quiz reference the widget attached to the cart. It does not store the customer’s name, email address, phone number or address from Shopify order data.
How long we keep it
Quiz responses, including any email address entered, are kept for 3 years, then permanently deleted by an automated job that runs daily. Records assembled to answer a data request are deleted 30 days after the merchant has served them.
If a merchant uninstalls the app, or Shopify asks us to erase a store’s data, we delete everything we hold for that store.

Quiz content sent to Anthropic is written by the merchant: question and answer text, and product titles. Shopper responses and email addresses are never sent to Anthropic.
If a merchant connects an email platform, an email address a shopper submits is forwarded to that platform at the moment it is captured. From that point the merchant’s own privacy policy and their email provider’s terms apply to it.
Your rights
Depending on where you live you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete the personal data held about you, and to object to or restrict its processing.
Because the merchant is the controller, the fastest route is to contact the store you took the quiz on. Shopify passes such requests to us automatically, and we respond to the merchant so they can answer you. You can also contact us directly using the details below and we will assist the merchant in responding.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS everywhere) and at rest. The database is not reachable from the public internet, and access to production is limited to the people who operate the service.
Children
Curator Quiz is a tool for merchants and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
Changes
If this policy changes materially we will update the date at the top of this page and, where the change affects merchants, notify them in the app.
